In Texas, we are now in the “dog days” of summer. It basically means that it is 100 degrees every single day for the entire month of August. Our neighborhood pool feels like a Jacuzzi. Around this time of year, I question why the heck we live in South Texas. I fantasize about moving to Minnesota or South Dakota. I wonder if they would understand my accent and appreciate big hair?
It is exactly one week until my kid’s start school. We have pretty much run out of things to do and the heat keeps us inside in the air conditioning.
Today wasn’t too terribly exciting. I guess I will blog about it and not excite you too!
We started out at our very favorite breakfast taco place. Y’all remember it? Here’s the link where I blogged about it http://livinsassy.com/2012/06/the-original-donut-shop/. One of these days, I am going to read the manual and figure out how to make the link you click on all fancy and stuff!
It will probably be our last taco visit for the summer. We’ve been there for breakfast pretty much every other week. The ladies at the counter don’t even ask us what we want anymore. We sit at the very same table. It’s our own little version of Cheers, where everyone knows your name, but with breakfast tacos. I guess they technically should be called brunch tacos since we didn’t roll in there until 10:30. Oh, I love summer!
After breakfast we went to Office Max for school supplies for my son. He had informed me that Target was for little kids and Office Max was for the teenagers. Did y’all get that memo? He was actually excited about buying school supplies so who was I to steal his joy. I don’t go in Office Max very much. I hate their shopping carts. I love Target’s carts. They are made of that cool plastic with wheels that turn easily. They also try to cross sell you all these ridiculous warranties at Office Max. I kind of felt sorry for the check out guy. He had to tell me about all these different kind of specials with each item he scanned. I pretty much just rolled my eyes every single time. Now I remember why I never go in Office Max. It is just annoying at the check out lane. I was begging him to let me out of there.
Isn’t this a deep post?
We then went to get haircuts and to Costco. Did y’all know that Costco completes me? I just walk in there and it makes me happy. If I get a berry smoothie while I shop then it is rapturous!
The big Stud and I were just in there on Sunday. I called it a date. Anytime we are out somewhere by ourselves without our children is called a date in my book. I guess I was so distracted by all that hand holding in the produce section that I forgot the paper towels and sugar. They had so many new cool things that I took some pictures to share with you. Every single time I see something cute in Costco and don’t buy it then it is gone by the time I finally decide to go back and get it.
They had tons of Halloween costumes already but I found these dresses that you could use as a princess costume.
I am a little over the tutu outfits that you see everywhere. I bought the twins some but they tear up so easily.
These were the cutest things I have ever seen and they are only $12.99! The details on the top part make them look so much more expensive!
These London Fog jackets are wonderful for our weather in South Texas.
We never have to send the kids in heavy coats to school. They are lined with flannel. They come in so many colors and look at that bow on the front!
I was chatting with a lady that was taking pictures of these coats as well. She was texting them to her daughter because she wanted to buy them for all her grandkids. They have a boys version too but in “boring boy colors” as my daughter would say!
They are only $18.99!
My boy is a diehard Longhorn fan and I have tons of family members that are Aggie fans too.
They had about 3 full tables with this collegiate wear! These were great quality and the material was real soft.
I can imagine lots of these for Christmas presents. The problem is that I really don’t plan ahead that far. And when I do,
I forgot where I hid them in the house. I can’t find them when it’s time to wrap them up for Christmas. Do y’all do that too?
They even had cheerleader outfits and flannel baby sleepwear.
These will go fast, I just know it!
I did look at something for me too. Don’t you just love this workout jacket? It looks so good on.
I wear workout clothes a lot and manage to work out in them every now and then.
This jacket and some yoga pants and we are talking high fashion for this work at home mom!
I am sure that it won’t be cool enough to wear it until November though, dang it.
When we got home, the kids wanted to send their Daddy a picture of them with their new haircuts.
They took these pictures with the iPad in the twins room.
They just make me smile.
I hope they will always love each other this much.
Can you believe I get to look at these cute kids every single day?
I guess today was pretty exciting after all.
Love y’all.
Stay Sassy.

Just wish we had a Costco around here, and the kids I could borrow when I go. So many hugs and kisses.
