Moms and Sons

Isaac's turn to share the love.
Isaac’s turn to share the love.

Do y’all remember Theresa and Monica? They’ve been on the blog several times modeling clothes for our Sassy Mom Model series. Weren’t those fun? We are about to start doing those again!

Anyway, I went to a mom and son luncheon at my son’s school this morning. It’s where the senior boys stand up and tell their moms how much they love and appreciate them. Theresa’s son Isaac and Monica’s son Marshall are both seniors this year.

I wanted to go and support them as well as see what those handsome boys had to say about their mommas.

Marshall has the best smile!

To say there wasn’t a dry eye in the house would be an understatement! Son after son stepped up on that podium and gave out so much love! Each one was different: funny, mushy, practical, thankful and all were wonderful! I haven’t wept that much in awhile! It was a good cry! The kind you get when you watch Steel Magnolias!

They both have been accepted to Texas A&M for next fall so they’ll keep on being together.

It was decided that they won’t be roommates because they want to make sure that actual studying takes place.

Aren’t they smart!?

Marshall and Monica.

I knew they were something special as I was watching them grow into young men.

Athletes and Leaders.

Who are respectful.

And humble, grateful and faithful.

They will now be Aggies!

WHOOP!

Great job moms.

Stay Sassy Y’all.

What a fantastic tradition! I’d love to see every child have the opportunity to do this to thank their moms (and dads)!

There is mass before the young men speak. The PTC group at the school does an awesome job of putting it on! They have a similar one for daddy and daughters at the end of February! I’m sure it’s just as wonderfully weepy!

What a great senior tradition at that school! Keeping it real and paying love and respect to moms that made a difference! A memory that will be with them forever!

I know. I was so impressed by those students. I am sure it took a look of guts to get up there and speak so much gushy stuff to their moms! Of course, we loved it!
