I met my friend Monica for lunch the other day.
I couldn’t wait to sit down and talk to her about all the new things going on in her life.
Her kids go to the same school as mine, but we usually only have time to wave at each other in the car pool lane!
I first met her when her husband Tommy coached my then 5 year son old’s flag football team at the YMCA. And they would eventually figure out that my husband and Tommy actually played against each other in college football. They had to have tackled each other while Tommy was at Sul Ross and Steve was playing for Austin College.
They would eventually coach our son’s six man football team together. It was the best year in SHLS‘s football history, ever! It was the eight grade version of Friday Night Lights but it actually took place on Thursday afternoons in broad daylight!
Small world.
Now, where were we? Oh yes, lunch!
We decided to meet somewhere near Antonian since we both had to be there later. And
I wanted to introduce her to Green and the new Joli Boutique location. I had blogged
about their former location and had just been by the new one when I went by Toy Zone
to pick up a birthday present.
I thought the new location was just as beautiful.
I was thrilled to meet their newest employee, Pookie.
They opened back in November and he has been named “Employee of the Month”
every single month.
Overachiever.
He likes to make sure things are in order.
Not only do they have the same unique clothing finds, but they have added some new
home decor.
It is so easy to pick up wedding or housewarming gifts while you are looking for a new
outfit.
They also have a small selection of shoes as well as their design center in the back of
the store.
It is so warm and inviting that you feel like you are at home.
The whole shopping center seems to be pet friendly. It is located at the Alon Market
right across from Hardberger Park. It has huge dog parks on the location on NW
Military and the one on Blanco. So not only can you take your dog for exercise at the nearby parks,
you can sit outside of Green and have lunch and stroll down to Joli and hang out with
Pookie. And a couple of doors down is Woof Gang Bakery. It’s a dog lover’s destination!
Imagine part dog groomer, bakery and sassy pet supply store found under one roof!
If I had more time, I would have gone to grocery shopping too! The HEB at Alon Market
reminds me more of a Central Market. It’s huge and has a lot of ready made food for
you to take home.
After talking to Monica at lunch, I could have hired her to do my shopping for me.
She has recently started a new business called “Consider It Done Alamo City.”
She shops for people that are too busy!
She not only can shop for you at Joli Boutique but she can stop by the grocery store
and pick up your prescriptions, wrap presents or whatever it might be that you need help
with.
I think she is the most organized and efficient person that I have ever met!
And she’s awfully nice too!
We had to hurry up and go back to our day.
It sure was a treat to get see an old friend doing new things.
And I guess the same thing can be said about Joli Boutique, an old friend in a new
space having lots of new adventures!
We’ll be back to see you too!
Stay Sassy Y’all.
