We took the kids with us to spend Friday night at the JW Marriott Resort San Antonio Hill Country. The hubby and I have been a few times before on our anniversary and New Year’s Eve. The kids have also been to an event before but never spent the night and we thought it would fun to let them experience it. My kids are easily entertained. We could go up and down the elevator and escalators for hours and they would think it was better than an amusement park. Well, we did go up the elevators more than a few times and the kids definitely got the JW experience. The twins said, “WOW, look at that!” about a gazillion times. It pretty much sums up my feelings too. This hotel is just breathtakingly beautiful. From the time that you drive up and see the sheer size of the hotel to the time you spend just strolling around to see all that it has to offer; you feel as though you are at a resort in some exotic location. We had every intention of staying another night for the hubby’s work gala but I was unable to go because I ended up getting sick. We have already made plans to come back this summer so we can bring the kids to their water park. He captured this picture at sunrise on our balcony early Saturday morning. As we were leaving the hotel, one of the twins said, “Mommy, I could just live here!”……Me too, honey, me too!
Our kids spent Saturday afternoon helping their Dad at the pocket park near St. Mary’s University. They were pulling weeds and doing a general clean up along with the students as part of their service project for Continuing the Heritage. The weeds seem confused because of the warm weather. Luckily, there are no more confused weeds! Let’s hope they stay that way. It was a beautiful day.
I was planning on blogging about the SAG awards on Sunday night. When I did the recap of the Golden Globes it was very popular. OK, at at least my neighbors told me it was funny. I didn’t have time to watch it since I was working on the 100 day of school project with the twins. I was busy helping them count and sort coffee beans and dried cherries. I took a picture of one of the projects because I was so impressed with our craftiness. We did all of this and didn’t even have to consult pinterest! The hardest part was constantly having to recount them because the girls kept eating the cherries. Next, I will be sure and feed them first. This should about do me for craft projects for the rest of the year!
I have been trying to choose the pictures for the Sassy Mom Looks for February that I took on Friday afternoon. I can’t believe how good they all turned out. I am finding that this is by far my favorite feature of Livin’ Sassy. There is just something about getting together with girlfriends and capturing their friendship on camera that just makes me so happy. They all encourage each other in doing something they have never done before and it just shows up on camera. I can’t wait to share them with you. I titled it, “The Beauty of Friendship.”
I hope you had a good weekend too.

Sounds like a fabulous weekend and pictures were priceless as usual !! I hope you are feeling better. Things are getting busy for me since we are scheduled to leave TX by Feb. 9 or 10 heading to Sunny Florida !! Even if we talk on the phone for 30 minutes that will be great and I will be coming back for sure the summer of 2013 for at least if not 10 days. I will also continue to get Living Sassy and at this time, have no plans to change email address or cell phone #.
Love you so, Sista
