I will drive a million miles to get to a restaurant with a playground….OK, maybe not a million but across town is a certainty and I finally was able to try out Jason Dady’s BBQ place. Unfortunately, I think the best thing about the place was the playground. I really wanted to like it since I love his other restaurants but there was just not much there for me to love. First of all, there is nothing green on the menu and you can’t count the wedge salad which is a hunk of iceberg with dressing on it or cole slaw slathered in mayonnaise. You have to order in bulk it appears to get the most for your money so I ended up getting a variety for us to share with the family pack which I thought was pretty expensive for the amount of food you receive. It came with 2 pieces of chicken,a sausage,1/2 pound pulled beef brisket,1/2 pound of sliced brisket and 2 pork ribs. The brisket was too fatty and the ribs were dry and the chopped brisket was greasy. The two sides we chose were creamed corn which was OK and the best thing was the macaroni and cheese. The service was awful especially since there was hardly anyone in the restaurant at 3 in the afternoon. I asked if they could bring the food out when it was ready since I had small kids on the playground and didn’t want to leave them alone when I went back inside to get the food and they said NO and I had questions about the menu and they acted like I was bothering them. I was so surprised by how many things were so unpleasant on our visit. I hope they can correct the problems with the food and service because a play area for the kids is hardly enough reason to come back. The website is www.twobrosbbqmarket.com.
