FOOD,GLORIOUS FOOD
My Mom cooked like a chef in the Army since there were so many kids in the house. She was way ahead of her time though, we were the only kids on the block eating ricotta cheese pancakes in the 1970’s. The photographer that took this picture couldn’t even get us all in the shot! I am the 8th child and sitting on my Daddy’s lap.
I was raised in a family of nine kids. The only time we ate out was on our family vacations. I can still remember the looks on the diners faces as all nine kids walked by to the biggest table in the restaurant and sighs of relief that we weren’t sitting next to them.
I think this is why I love to eat out so much as an adult. Simply because I can. I started experiencing finer dining when I had an expense account and had to use it to take clients out and impress them. It was a learning experience on so many levels because in the small town where I grew up there were no 4 star restaurants, only chicken fried things with a side of gravy. Over time, I recognized the differences in the quality of food and sought it out to discover not only the social aspects of a meal with friends but differences in cooking styles, flavors and textures,oh my, food, glorious food!
I am one of those people that loves to try new restaurants. As I get to experience new places, I will post pictures and my opinions and whether you can take the kids or save it for date night. Of course I will let you know the price point because I am cheap, remember? The hubby will think it’s tacky but it matters so you will know when to plan another date night.
Please know that I will not take requests for reviews and will only post opinions on food myself or my family had the opportunity to eat.
Stay Sassy Y’all.
