We are in the dog days of summer 2020. In any normal year, it’s tough to find something to do in the heat.
Yesterday, the forecast called for 105 degrees in San Antonio.
ONE. ZERO. FIVE.
Sigh.
The pandemic has made it hard to navigate everything. And going on dates has been the very last thing on my list of importance.
Until yesterday.
It was long overdue.
We made a reservation to attend the live music event at Singing Water Vineyards in Comfort. It gave me something to look forward to all week. One of the new owners is a twin mom too. We had met way back in our mother of multiples group. And my friend Karen, (yes, Karen but not that kind of Karen!) had just gotten back from taking her family out there for a little live music and relaxation. She has twins as well but we didn’t meet at the same mother of multiples group. Our girls met at school and we just happen to live in the same neighborhood. Is that too much information? She never steers my wrong on her recommendations was my point!
Anyway, back to the day date.
We drove out 1-10 from San Antonio all giddy like we were going on our honeymoon. It had been since March that we had been anywhere all by ourselves. When you say that out loud it sounds like a ridiculously long time.
Well, it is.
The short drive from the interstate is spectacular. When you see “CAUTION CURVE 10 mph” signs all over the place, you know it’s going to get good! After many ooh’s and ahhh’s we finally made it to Singing Waters.
The setting is beautiful, laid back, relaxing and the perfect Hill Country experience.
Did I mention it was beautiful?!
We sat in the shade with a slight breeze. We were never too hot and stayed awhile to eat, sip some wine and relax and forget about everything. The music was a little country and bluegrass.
It was just the reset we needed.
You don’t need a set of twins to go but you do need to bring your masks to wear while walking around! I took some pictures to share with you to give you an idea of the setting and the room to spread out to be safe until the pandemic is over.
And that can’t come soon enough!
Stay Sassy Y’all.
