Today is a milestone for someone in my family. I usually don’t use my blog for birthday wishes but this is a special one!
Our oldest sibling turns sixty. 60. Six zero. The Big Six 0. Sesenta in Spanish!
Where did the time go?
I guess being the oldest of nine kids isn’t the easiest job in the world.
We tagged along on too many dates to count and embarrassed her at her teenage job at the Dairy Queen on a daily basis.
The oldest in a family this big is bound to be organized and an overachiever.
And go off to college far,far away from home!
And have an only child.
(Janie on the left)
She lived in the big city for a while but her love for East Texas made her want to come back home.
(Janie is in the far top right corner)
She met Mark and they fell in love and have been married for twenty-five years. Their brilliant son and my super handsome nephew is about to graduate from college!
She has been teaching at an elementary school for almost thirty years. There hasn’t been a year yet that someone hasn’t told us how much she has changed their child’s way of thinking about school. She has a unique way of instilling a love of learning in all of her students.
I can’t think of more kind, thoughtful and generous human being.
I am so blessed to call her sister.
Happy Birthday Janie.
Sixty never looked so Sassy!
We Love You!

We let’s hope for sixty more! Let’s hope you can keep all your teeth! I’ll come and visit you in the old folks home because I will only be about 100 and still driving my car!
I hope you had a fabulous day! Your hubby sent me the pictures! Love you!
