Since we are still getting to know each other, I thought I would pull a picture from the past. This is one of my favorites because it is about the time that I started to come out of the fog of “wow,we have twins” phase. My friend Gina took this picture. When she isn’t busy being a perfusionist, she is a very talented photographer too. We were in her den with a sheet behind us, this was the best shot of the twins. They would never look at the camera at the same time. My son is now 13. Sniff, sniff. He is your typical teenage boy. He is pretty much embarrassed by the fact that he even has parents. He is turning into a young man right before our eyes. He now wears a size 12 shoe. He is thoughtful, athletic, funny and an incredible big brother. The twins are now 6. Sometimes I do wish the kids were closer in age. I went back to work full time when my son started kindergarten, a month later I found out I was pregnant with twins. Yes, they are spontaneous twins. We did not have fertility treatments. It is amazing to me the questions people ask you when they find out you have multiples. Aren’t all babies natural?
I also love this picture because it is so good of my husband. He doesn’t like to smile in pictures. This is about as close as it gets. He continues to amaze me with his love and support. I can’t imagine what life would be like without him in it. He is so very brilliant but humble about it as well. He still gives me butterflies after all these years. Sorry to get all mushy. I just can’t help myself! I guess this actually ended up being a post about the men in my life. My sweet boy and his awesome Dad.
Stay Sassy Y’all.
