There is nothing like getting an opinion on the beautiful gowns and the award show itself from a housewife dressed in her sweatpants who is simultaneously watching it with her Facebook friends. I am sure Hollywood cares around what a Mom of three in South Texas thinks about the whole thing, at least that is what I told the hubby when he put the kids to bed so I could watch the entire red carpet show. Thank you honey, it was all in the name of research. I will cover you the next time they have an award show about microeconomic theory or regression analysis. Just let me know and I will be there for you!
I was so happy to see Billy Crystal back. His opening sketch was wonderful and I thought the in memoriam was very well done. It did seem like it needed some more jokes in between and the Bridesmaids were a welcome sight to break up the monotony. The Martin Scorsese drinking bit was hysterical. Here are my most notable moments and dresses:
*Thought that the leg pose by Angelina when she was presenting an award was awkward at best and her dress was just too much material but loved her lipstick!
*Octavia Spencer’s award was so very well deserved and her speech was so heartfelt.
*Wonders how an almost silent film came away with Best Oscar
*Ryan Secrest handled the whole prank by Sacha Baron Cohen with class-he on the other hand is classless and owes Ryan an apology.
*Didn’t like most of the hairdos with the dresses this year
*Penelope Cruz looks wonderful in lavender
*I loved Miss Piggy’s outfit. She never disappoints!
*Christopher Plummer is proof that you are never too old
*When did Nick Nolte morph into Colonel Sanders? Is it for a part, I hope?
*Loved the J C Penney commercials with Ellen DeGeneres-When did JCP get so hip?
*Christian Bale. No words are needed. Just picture him again. Sigh.
*Cameron Diaz forgot to brush her hair.
*That bow on Emma Stone’s dress should have it’s own zip code. It was HUGE.
*Jessica Chastain had on the perfect dress. It was so different and perfect with her hair color.
*Meryl Streep’s acceptance speech made me cry. She is a class act and so very gifted.
Until next year!
Happy Movie Going!
I wanted to show you my necklace I got from a Stella and Dot party. I love it. I have gotten tons of compliments on it. Drop me a line and will let you know the contact information from the kindergarten teacher who sells the line. The dog and the 6 year old are not for sale! My other 6 yr old took the picture.
