I have been very busy lately finishing up the Sassy Mom Looks at the Rodeo post. I hope you had time to read it. I never realized how much work would be involved in taking some pictures. I wish you could see us when we are all picking out clothes to wear for each model. You would think we were a bunch of giggly teenagers. Maybe that is why I love doing this so much. I cannot begin to tell you how different this is from the mortgage business. I love numbers and helping people buy their dream home and of course, seeing all my wonderful co-workers. I still have to get my fix of watching CNBC and the stock sticker while Tyler Matheson talks nonstop about the global economy. Wait, I am getting dizzy from the rush of excitement. I can’t help it! The Wall St. Journal and Financial Times are still my favorite newspapers in the morning but I really love doing this blog. It is just so fun and I love being creative, or at least I am trying! I hope you are enjoying it.
Enough about the financial markets, let’s talk food! I was scouting out the next Sassy Mom Look store today when I saw Sol Y Luna Baking Company right next door. I have never been to their actual storefront until today. They have a booth at the Pearl Farmers Market which is where I have always eaten their incredible baked goods The best thing they make in my opinion is a kolache. Most of San Antonio must know this because they always run out on any given Saturday. The bread on the outside is perfection. It has just the right crunch when you bite it and it has the perfect amount of cheese to sausage ratio. There really aren’t enough adjectives to describe how good it is so you might as well just try one for yourself. I would go so far as to put it on your food bucket list. Trust me when I am talking baked goods.I live with a man that has been trying to bake the perfect breads for years and of course I must sample his latest recipe. I bought a loaf of their honey whole wheat bread to make grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner. The kids thought they were the best sandwiches ever made! Their bread shouldn’t be missed either or the pastries or just close your eyes and point to anything and try it. It will more than likely be fabulous! I took a picture of the display cases for you. Sorry to make you drool! Pick something up at their store or the Pearl Farmers Market. Go by their booth early because they do run out! Their website is www.solylunabakingco.com and for more information on the Farmers Market visit www.pearlfarmersmarket.com.
Below is a picture of a little sample of their fresh made breads. The smells when you open the door of the bakery are heavenly!
