Last Minute Mother’s Day Ideas

If you haven’t found a Mother’s Day gift for your Mom or Wife yet, (yes, we do have some male readers) then I have a few ideas for you!

I finished up early taking pictures of some sassy Moms down at the Pearl yesterday. They were dressed in running attire from Run Wild Sports.  I plan on posting those pictures next week. I can’t wait for you to see them all. I got a little teary eyed when I was looking at them last night. The confidence these two ladies displayed in these pictures just really spoke to me. You can just see how at ease they are with their bodies. Proof to me that I need to keep working out!

Anyway, I needed some ideas of where to go to get some last minute gifts that don’t necessarily have to do with the mall. The mall stresses me out. I was all out of unique ideas because my brain was still oohing and ahhing over those PTA Moms in fabulous workout clothes! I called my friend Michelle because she inspires me in all things. It’s funny how our conversations go because we can talk for a total of 30 seconds and we completely understand each other. She has five kids with two sets of twins and the youngest who isn’t even 2 yet; so she doesn’t have time to chat. In what might normally sound like cryptic code to other people, my friend sent me to her hair stylist that just happens to also have a boutique in the same building; all in the course of about ten seconds. Boom. Done. She then had to let me go because someone was crying or maybe she said she had to go have a good cry; Both of which I totally understood.  I then headed to the Oasis.

The Oasis is located in a strip center behind the restaurant Wildfish. The lobby area where the boutique is located is very welcoming with water elements to set the mood. There isn’t a huge amount of items to purchase but what they do have is trendy and at reasonable prices. I could very easily see running in here and grabbing a gift certificate and then buying a pair of earrings to wrap it all up for a great present. Most of the women that I know love getting spa get certificates. They have lots of different stylists and therapists that have varying specialties throughout the upscale building. It is possible to get all of your services done in one visit and all at one location.

I got the idea of the next location to show you when I thought about where a man might think to pick up a last minute gift for Mother’s Day. I then remembered the car wash! The Wash Tub has these great boutiques located inside eight of their locations throughout San Antonio. You can shop for gifts while you wait for your car to be cleaned! I have been many times and they always have the best selections. They even gift wrap every single item purchased. It’s a beautiful thing!

They have items at every price point.

I must say that I met the most delightful people while I was in there yesterday. The lady that runs the boutique near my house on DeZavala is a sweetie pie. I also loved talking to a customer who was getting her car washed while I was taking pictures of the merchandise. She does the events for Perico’s.  I am sorry I didn’t get your names but I enjoyed our visit. I just love blogging. It takes me places and allows me to meet the most wonderful people that I would might not have otherwise had the chance to meet!

My husband was asking me for some gift ideas at the dinner table last night. I told him that all I really wanted was a long,uninterrupted nap and a family picture. I don’t want anyone to gripe about having to get a little dressed up or having to pose for more than 5 minutes either. That’s it.  And maybe a week off from doing the laundry.
