The 21st edition of the Junior League of San Antonio’s Holiday Ole Market kicked off last night at the Expo Hall at the Freeman Coliseum. This one of the the JLSA’s major fundraisers.
All the net proceeds go directly back into the community by the programs that they support.
And it’s just loads of fun to look at everything.
I met my friend Marilyn there so we could do a little shopping and catch up with old friends. We were in Junior League over the same time period and just got finished serving on Antonian’s Heritage Gala committee together. I asked her, OK, begged her to come and model some of the fashions that we would find at the shopping extravaganza! She has such a fashion sense and I don’t think I have ever seen her repeat an outfit! She knows how to mix and match the latest trends with the classic pieces in her closet.
Our first stop was at Amy B’s booth. She is from Tyler near my hometown. When I was on the Ole’ Market committee we used to chat a lot, that is when she wasn’t buzzing around her booth.
It’s a very popular spot. She’s a lot of fun and so are her employees.
I think Marilyn looks so good in this cobalt blue jacket. It isn’t made out of a real heavy material so it would be perfect for our every changing weather in South Texas.
She fell in love with this denim jacket with fur collar.
You could dress this up or down and wear with leggings or dress slacks.
This leopard print dress looks perfect with what she has on but it doesn’t come with the drink!
That’s extra!
The preview party served wine, isn’t that sassy!
Amy B’s also has a whole section of plus size fashions, that would make you the Queen B’s!
We both fell in love with the dress that the owner of Aqua Gypsy was wearing.
That scarf adds the perfect amount of color and those boots has some extra bling.
Ooohh, aahh, love it all!
Marilyn is modeling one of their wraps.
It was so soft!
I had to snap a picture of one of Aqua Gypsy’s booth decorations.
So true, these merchants have to travel all over the place to set up these shows.
And we are awfully glad they do!
Besides volunteering for the JLSA for many, many years, Marilyn puts time in at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
She always has her eye out for the latest in rodeo fashion.
Flair and Company had all sorts of things to wear to one of their gala events or concerts. You could easily dress it up or down.
This red blouse was even more stunning in person, or it could be a dress, who can tell these days!
This belt is even more beautiful in person.
I can’t get over Marilyn’s manicure, fabulous!!
Leopard print was on her mind last night.
Can you blame her, this coat looks like it was made for her.
You need to go back and get it!
Now after all that dressing up, it’s time for some pajamas!
I think I squealed out loud when I saw the pajama people again!
They haven’t been at Ole Market in awhile.
I have a pair of pink leopard print, flannel pajamas that I bought at one of the events years ago.
I wear them all the time in the winter. They are so comfortable.
I bought some for my sister and was texting the pictures of them and told her “Merry Christmas.”
I can’t keep a secret when I am shopping and this excited. Yes, they are only 18.00 for the set!
I bought a robe too.
Sshhhh, don’t tell anybody because it’s a Christmas gift!
Well, I jumped ahead to Christmas when you can buy Halloween decorations as cute as these!
You can find these at the Crooked Antler booth.
I look forward to their booth every year and this year did not disappoint.
You need something to wrap your gifts in, don’t you?
How about these trendy chalk inspired ones at the Zella Press booth?
And speaking of booths, I just love the colors they use and their logo that was painted on the floor.
You can’t see it because I didn’t think to take a picture of it.
It’s just another reason to go to Holiday Ole’ Market this weekend!
I can’t believe I haven’t shown you this hat by now.
Marilyn can rock a hat!
They have a big selection at Frayed Flower.
The designs are in all colors and you can even have something customized as well.
You can go through all the booths over and over and not be able to see everything.
We thought the best way was to make a round around all of the booths and then go back in again to make your selections.
But honey, you can shop any ‘ol way you want to!
Grab some girlfriends and go!
You just might run into some old friends like Marilyn and I did last night.
These ladies were all Ole’ Market Chairs throughout their years at the JLSA.
They know how much work it takes to put on the event.
They were there to show their support of this non-profit that they love so much.
Holiday Ole’ Market runs through this Sunday, October 19th at the Expo Center behind the AT&T Center.
Follow the signs for the west gate entrance.
The parking is close and will be $7.00 at the gate. The general ticket can be used all weekend and strollers are welcome at any time during general shopping hours which can be found on their website.
Not only is the shopping experience fun, it is for a great cause in our San Antonio community.
Stay Sassy Y’all.
