After watching Adele’s performance at the Grammy’s last weekend, I have become obsessed with false eyelashes. She looked amazing with those smokey eyes and lashes that went on forever. Although most of us will never sing like Adele, we can certainly try and duplicate those beautiful eyes. False eyelashes aren’t exactly something you put on every day, I mean it is a little much for the carpool lane! I wanted to find out how to apply them for those special occasion events so we can all feel as glamorous as a Grammy award winner. Livin’ Sassy went to AMAR Cosmetics in the Quarry Village. They not only carry the most unique variety of make-up brands, the staff is very friendly and hands-on. They help guide you through your unique skin type and how to apply makeup for your best overall look. I thought they would be the ones to ask for getting those beautiful false eyelashes at home.
Our Sassy Mom Model is Miranda. She has pretty long lashes to begin with so Deborah, the owner of AMAR, suggested that she only needed the individual lashes. If you have shorter lashes then you might want to try using false full lashes. The individual lashes are most effective in the corner of the eyes for a very glamorous look. The following are some tips to remember when applying individual types of false eyelashes and most rules apply to the full as well:
*Be sure that you apply your powder and eyeliner before you apply the lashes
*Always use the glue that comes with the false eyelash kit
*Drop a small amount of glue on some aluminum foil
*Use tweezers to dab the end of the lashes into the glue and wait for it to dry so the glue isn’t runny
*Start at the middle of the eye using the iris as a reference point and work towards the end of your eyelid with the remainder of individual lashes
*Apply to your existing eyelashes and not the eyelid itself and make sure the curl of the lash is going in the same direction
*Let air dry and then apply your mascara as usual

We would like to thank AMAR Cosmetics for letting us play makeup on a very rainy day! There is a video on the bottom right of the website that shows you exactly what makeup was used on our model. You can visit them at www.amarcosmetics.com for more details on their other services.
Our beautiful model and my twin Mom friend Miranda can be found at her website www.whimsicalprintables.com. When she isn’t busy keeping up with her four year old twin boys and three year old daughter, she makes wonderful and creative invitations.
