Our Sassy Mom models are back and this edition features my friends that are all mothers of twins who just so happen to all be over forty and fabulous!
We were finally able to find time to meet and pick out clothes to model and take pictures for Livin’ Sassy.
It is so hard to schedule busy moms who are on vacation, have swim team practice and play dates and family in town and not to mention kids home from school for the summer. We finally found a window of opportunity this past Saturday morning to meet and take pictures around Sunset Station and St. Paul’s Square in downtown San Antonio.
I am thrilled to have so many more readers since our last Sassy Mom model feature. Well, it’s about time you found us! We like to have fun around here. I will try to briefly explain what it means to be a Livin’ Sassy Mom model.
Basically, they are all my friends that I ask and sometimes beg to appear on my little blog. We all try to decide what store we like the best and the location that we will ultimately take pictures of them in their outfits. They then pretend to be fashion models while I pretend to be a photographer. Sounds fun?
Well it is!
When you are busy with kids, it’s best to just make up a reason to get out of the house. I even give my friends DVD’s of all the pictures so they can keep them forever and ever. It’s my little gift so when their kids are driving them crazy on certain days, they can go back and reflect on how much fun we had. They can reminisce about those carefree hours and how marvelous they all looked!
It is my very favorite part of Livin’ Sassy.
I just love the hanging lantern and of course the pretty model underneath it!
I would like to go back for a tour of this historic square and learn a little more of its history.
This month, I consulted my new friend and stylist, Jules Aldaz because I wanted some new boutiques to choose from; And I also wanted to give my friends a range of choices. We met through our mutual friend, Nicci who had told me about her fashion show at the Aveda Institute. I blogged about it recently and it was a huge success. The readers that attended the event had a wonderful time and loved the clothes that she had styled for the fundraiser. We looked at some of the outfit choices from the pictures of the event and then chose the clothes from Langford Market in the Shops at LaCantera.
The employees of the store couldn’t have been more helpful. They brought so many outfit combinations and the models tried them all on; and I couldn’t have been more surprised at what they all ended up choosing for their photos. They all agreed that they were outfits that they would never have picked out for themselves or even have tried on to begin with.
They loved their look and feel of each outfit so much that they all purchased them and took them home the same day.
I just love the color combinations in this outfit. This is not an actual working train but a great backdrop for pictures.
Since this is near the end of the summer season and the store might not have these exact same outfits in stock, we are just going to show you the pictures and not give you the price breakdowns like in prior posts.
They have very reasonable prices and most of the outfits ranged in prices from $20 to $49.
This picture was taken in the courtyard area across from Sunset Station.
The entire grounds were just beautiful.
I chose the location of St. Paul’s Square which is one of the oldest settlements in San Antonio that was first established in the 1700’s and Sunset Station which is part of the historic district because of it’s beauty and architectural elements. I caught a glimpse of it as I was driving in the area recently on my way to a wedding shower. I couldn’t believe how much revitalization had been done in this historic part of the city. It was so picturesque that it almost didn’t look real. I knew that I had to come back and take some pictures to share with my readers.
This is the building that is facing the Staybridge Hotel.
The hotel is brand new but the building where we are standing was built in the late 1800’s.
We weren’t able to take as many pictures to show you as I would have liked since the heat quickly climbed to almost 100 degrees on Saturday. We met at 8 o’clock in the morning but the temperature rose so fast that we were literally melting by 11 o’clock. This is the reason that you don’t see as many pictures of our second set of outfits. It was just too hot.
We declared the Sassy Mom model shoot over at 11:45 and went inside to cool off and eat lunch.
You can see from the expressions on their faces that they had a wonderful time.
Don’t you just love a red dress?
Our girl can pull it off with ease!
Here is Mary Beth.
Can you believe that she doesn’t like to have her picture taken?
She worked for many years in a medical office before becoming a stay-at-home mom of twin daughters.
She is one of the kindest people I have ever met. I am so glad that she finally agreed to let me take her picture.
Her beauty just radiates as she is wearing this ruffle dress. The orange belt is the perfect contrasting accessory.
It is a great outfit for a date night out with her husband. Hint, hint.
Our next model is an extra special Mom. Michelle has two sets of twins and a singleton. She has boy/girl twins and identical twin boys and an almost two year old boy. In other words, she’s busy.
She is a future blogger who will soon be launching her very own website that will encompass all matters of raising twins. Her blog name will be Twins Times Two. It makes perfect sense to me since she is an expert with hands on experience!
She is a former teacher with her Masters degree in English and one of the funniest people you will ever meet. I anticipate that it will be well written and full of humor. I can’t wait.
She looks so stunning in this maxi dress. It is the perfect outfit for a hot summer day.
I think this picture explains Cindy’s personality perfectly.
She has a perpetual smile on her face. She worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years.
She managed and trained employees at a couple of different restaurants before becoming a stay-at-home of twin boys.
Of course, they keep her busy but she loves every minute.
I am so glad to call her friend.
She is sassy personified!
I hope you will agree that these moms not only kept their cool in these photos but look amazingly beautiful, elegant and classy.
I guess it just comes naturally since they are all over forty and fabulous!
We would like to thank the very helpful staff of Langford Market. All of the clothes and accessories you see in the pictures are from their store. The items might not be available since this is the end of the season and they currently have sales in progress. They will be more than willing to assist you in tapping your inner sassy! They sure did for us!
After all, sassy has no age limits!
If you would like some more details about the beautiful settings of our pictures, please visit Sunset-Station or StPaulSquare.
Stay Sassy Y’all.
