I must admit that I had only been to the San Antonio Museum of Art a couple of times until they opened the Museum Reach section of the Riverwalk. Now we go back once a month! At first we took all three kids to the “family fun” day that the museum hosts on the first Sunday of each month until we realized that only one of the kids actually wanted to do all of the art and crafts and not that there isn’t something for everyone but my other two children don’t even like to color! This quickly become a special mom and daughter event that we look forward to every single month. Not only did we love the many themes and activities but they opened up a restaurant that offers Sunday brunch with views right on the river. The fact that they serve chocolate tarts only sweetened the day all the more and my first grader loves to wave at the people floating by on the barges. Parking is free across the street. Kids 12 and younger are also granted free admission. See their website for more details. www.samuseum.org

Wish I had known about Carolina’s last weekend when my sisters were in town. Right up our alley. Will definitely put it on our next trip.
