Fiesta is here! San Antonio has a lot of newcomers to this thing called Fiesta. If you are one of the new faces in town, welcome! Now, get yourself to a Fiesta event this year! If you want to ease into something then your best bet is the Fiesta Arts Fair, especially if you have children. It is very family friendly and is located on the beautiful grounds of the Southwest School of Art and Craft. There is music,food,drink,art and more art. My family loves it and I am sure yours will too! 
You will find hands-on crafts for the kids that are purchased with coupons. The location by the gazebo and the River Walk is just wonderful. .
You will find exquisite art and jewelry for purchase. This ring is by Laura Q Design Studio. She is a personal friend who I have watched for many years become more and more successful. Our sons were in play group together. I love her work. It makes me smile. She does too. I am so proud of her!
Here is a necklace she designed. I love the colors that she uses and in such detail. She will have a booth at Fiesta Arts Fair and the King William Fair. Her website is lauraq.com for more details. She is just one of over 100 featured artists of all different fine art genres.
Sassy Tips for Fiesta Arts Fair: Park in the downtown parking garage. It is the enchilada red colored building with the angles. It has covered parking and is right across the street from the entrance. Buy a two day pass and you can take your kids one day and then go the next day with your husband or girlfriends. Have your kids do the art activities first so they will have time to dry before you take them home. Be sure and go inside the building and see the chapel, it is breathtakingly beautiful!
And above all else, eat a gordita!

The Fiesta Arts Fair is this Saturday and Sunday, April 21st and 22nd at the Southwest School of Art and Craft’s historic Ursuline campus. The address is 300 Augusta at Navarro.
