We first started going to the drive thru Nativity at Concordia Lutheran Church when our twins were 7 months old. We put them in their jammies since they would fall asleep during the ride and we could just put them in bed when we got home. Now that they are older, my son and twins ask if is time for the” Nativity night.” It is now a family tradition for us and so many of our friends. We all go in our PJ’s and they get to pick out their own travel mug for their hot cocoa in the car. We anxiously await the church volunteers handing us our cookies at the entrance. They also give you a CD for your audio system so you can listen to a program that is narrated for the 10 different live scenes that are acted out by the members of the church. There is something very powerful and full of meaning to see exactly what took place in that manger so long ago. It always promotes beautiful discussions from our children on the ride out to look at Christmas lights right after we finish. Thank you Concordia for keeping this tradition alive for our family and so many others. It is truly a gift to our community and we thank you. This year’s Nativity takes place on Sat. Dec 17th and Sun Dec 18th from 5-9 pm and go early to avoid a longer wait. For more information their website is www. concordialutheranchurch.com.

That’s where I went to preschool and elementary school… a LONG time ago!

You should take the kids if you are in town-they would love it!
