Last night, we finally made it out to Dickens on Main in Boerne. It seems like every single time we thought about going in years past it was already over. There are only four nights to catch it, Friday and Saturday night this weekend and next. I finally remembered this year.
Let me explain the experience a little bit. The streets in downtown Boerne are closed off and opened up to pedestrians. The businesses along Main St. are beautifully decorated. There is live music, Santa Claus, a petting zoo and carriage rides. There is even snow! Make that fake snow that is blown out of a couple machines. But, it was by far the most exciting thing to happen to our South Texas kids in a long time! Our teenage boy even had fun.
I didn’t take very many pictures because quite frankly, I was enjoying myself. And everyone else was too. I wanted to at show you a little bit of the fun so you can see it for yourself! I just love downtown Boerne.
Next weekend is the wassail walk and the pet parade. We might have to go back and enter our dog Sofie. I am pretty sure she won’t win most well behaved but she might win for the best costume category.
You also need to see the one- man performance by J. Damian Gillen of “Bah Humbug-It’s a Charles Dickens” which is on the Main Plaza stage at 7:30 and 8:30pm. If it doesn’t put in you in the Christmas mood then I just don’t know what will! It is just old fashion fun.

Stay Sassy Y’all.
