Livin’ Sassy is a women’s lifestyle website launched in November 2011.
After twenty years in the mortgage banking industry, I wanted to try something a little different.
At the urging of my friends and family, I was encouraged to find an outlet for my humor and creativity. After all those years using the financial part of my brain, I thought it was time to release my inner sassy!
So I combined my love of bargain shopping, writing, travel, food and photography to come up with the inspiration of Livin’ Sassy.
But soon after I would lose my sister to breast cancer at the age of 51. She was full of life, humor, intelligence and style. It is in grieving her loss that I decided to highlight my girlfriends on the blog in honor of Liz by telling their stories of inspiration.
Her story may have ended but I wanted to showcase my friends and share with them how truly special they are to me and their families. I went on to launch Livin’ Sassy in time for her birthday.
It is my hope that my little blog will share posts of women who are in their thirties, forties and beyond who have overcome challenges in their lives. I love writing about their stories of inspiration.
I grew up among the tall pine trees of East Texas with eight brothers and sisters and my parents who had a medical practice.
I met my man on a blind date in Dallas. He proposed after we had been dating six weeks. We have been married for over 30 years, with 3 grown children, one who was born with special needs.
So look around the website because you might just laugh, cry and hopefully, find a little inspiration.
Stay Sassy Y’all.

Hi Laura. Your blog has been pretty quiet. Guess your working hard at your new job. Miss you.
Any tips on great, safe places to take bluebonnet pictures? We have not taken one with my girls in years. I need one more for the collection. Have a Happy Easter.

Hi Gloria! Yes, I have been busy figuring out all the ins and outs of my new job. I was just about to post something new and saw your question! The place where we go got mowed this year! Can you believe someone would mow down wildflowers! I just got a tip from my twins group about the place on the Green Mountain turnaround. It’s supposed to be spacious and quiet so there won’t be too many cars. I have to hurry up and take the kids up there before the bluebonnets stop blooming! Thank you for checking in and I promise that I will post more often! Take care and good luck!
