Tacos,Costco and Haircuts, oh My!

In Texas, we are now in the “dog days” of summer. It basically means that it is 100 degrees every single day for the entire month of August. Our neighborhood pool feels like a Jacuzzi. Around this time of year, I question why the heck we live in South Texas.  I fantasize about moving to Minnesota or South Dakota. I wonder if they would understand my accent and appreciate big hair? It is exactly one week until my kid’s start school. We have pretty much run out of things to do and the heat keeps us inside in the air conditioning. The Original Donut Shop

Today was our first summertime visit to the Original Donut Shop. Years ago, we first discovered this iconic place when we wondered why so many cars were lined up for tacos at a donut spot. It was intriguing to say the least, so we pulled in their parking lot to discover it for ourselves. We quickly learned what the long lines were all about!
